Are your eyes open?

OK, so throughout my past few blogs the subject of honesty and trust has cropped up, and I think that this is relevant to all of what we see and read. How much of what we read and hear is true? How much of what we physically see is an illusion, and finally are we brainwashed?? Firstly, I would like to focus on the word CURIOSITY and it's importance. Always analysing and interpreting people, I have realised that there seems to be a correlation between curiosity and generation. I think that older generations are generally more curious than newer ones. I think that the media and complexity of the planet are the reasons as to why this is. Sadly, people are accepting what they hear without informing an opinion. How many people read statements, quotes and opinions about objects, subjects or people they have never interacted with before? Be curious and do something about it! Don't just wonder, but ask questions, make things, see things, use things, UNDERSTAND things.

As a child I was adventurous, but I would do things which were not considered socially acceptable and there for controlled, putting a boundary on my sense of curiosity. In some ways this is good. For example if I were to jump off a cliff to see whether I could fly or not, I would thank whoever forced me not to. However, new generations of people are parenting in ways which hinder their childrens' full potential. It is a cycle in which a certain lifestyle is brought upon a child and anything different from that lifestyle encountered by the child is usually too late. - by this time the child has a closed mind, with little curiosity. This is a big influence as to why I believe I have the underlying personality and creativity to be a successful designer, only time will tell.

How vain is it to sit down and write when you haven't stood up to live. -  David Henry Thoreau.
