Google Maps. - my prediction

Google have a recent pilot project which can be seen here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-15493333 The basic concept is that shops and other businesses can be virtually accessed via Google maps. This means that businesses can advertise their products, services and environments more efficiently. I personally think that there is an opportunity in the near future for businesses to become accessed completely, virtually. - for example I could walk through oxford street into a clothes store and select specific items and perhaps even see how the clothes fit on a virtual CAD model of my own dimensions? This concept theoretically makes sense in terms of time and money, but surely the emotional values are lost this way? I wouldn't be able to experience colour, textures, forms and aesthetics to the same effect. In the current economic situation I think that our interests are in less materialistic, more emotionally valued services and products. However I do think people are living in a controlled environment, powered by an authoritative and dogmatic hierarchy which reflects in the trends and values we see in everyday life which have become socially acceptable and encouraged
