The new Ford Flex is very similar to the previous model other than the obvious front-grille. I think that the wrap-around aesthetics create powerful and technological values which enable the car an over all confident stance. In terms of styling I think that the face of the vehicle is definitely it's strong point. It seems proportionally correct and justified through continuous form. The horizontal lines enthuse bulkiness and create what seems a wider stance, therefor expressing strength and authority.
The perspective view is utterly frustrating. I think that certain portions and lines of the Flex contrast to the elements of the front view. For example I think that the tiny, pathetic wheel arches create little dynamism which by no means justifies the wide stance expressed on the facial characteristics. The Flex also seems to have no obvious blood-line. Perhaps the wrap-around grille was supposed to represent or overcome this? Over all I consider this a promising yet confusing concept.
